This Super Smoothie is Packed with Nutrients for Healthy Skin
Benefits of Spinach
Spinach is so beneficial for skin health. It’s filled with vitamin C which acts as an antioxidant and promotes collagen formation. It’s filled with iron to help your body transport oxygen and nutrients to your cells. Spinach is abundant in vitamin A, which is needed for repairing skin. The vitamin K in spinach helps diminish the dark circles under your eyes. And best of all, it contains both lutein and zeaxanthin, which are powerful antioxidants that promote macular health. Benefits of Bananas
Bananas are usually added to smoothies to add thickness and natural sweetness. Beyond that, they stand out with their own skin benefits too. They’re a great source of easily absorbable B6. Vitamin B is needed to produce red blood cells and cellular energy. They’re rich in potassium which promotes skin regeneration. And just like spinach, they contain vitamin A which helps restore moisture to dry skin.
Benefits of Blueberries
Blueberries are well known for their anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant content. The anthocyanins in blueberries produce their purplish-blue hue. On top of that, anthocyanins fight free radicals that damage the collagen in skin. They’re the food source with the highest amount of antioxidants and you only need a handful a day to reap its benefits.
Benefits of Coconut Milk
The healthy fats in coconut milk help repair the skin barrier. It’s high in vitamin C and E, both with antioxidant properties. The copper found in coconut milk helps maintain collagen and skin elasticity, while its high amounts of manganese are necessary for collagen production. Low intake of manganese can lead to bone demineralization and poor wound healing.

What kind of ingredients should I use?
Spinach: You’ll want to use fresh spinach here. I find that using frozen spinach doesn’t always deliver the same results.
Banana: Freeze the banana beforehand. It eliminates the need for ice cubes.
Blueberries: Frozen or fresh blueberries will work here. Using frozen blueberries makes for a more chilled smoothie.
Coconut Milk: My go-to for coconut milk is Aroy-D in the green can. Canned coconut milk will work as well as the refrigerated box cartons. You can substitute for other nut milks if you prefer or plain filtered water.
